Coach Bio

  • Biography 
    • Eric Viney has been coaching college and/or club volleyball since 2000.  He has head coach and assistant coach experiences in all 3 divisions of the NCAA as well as the NAIA.  Career highlights include recruiting and coaching over 25 All-Conference and All-America athletes over the course of his college coaching career and being voted 2003 Ohio Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.  Eric also owned and directed Club DAK90 VBC in Mitchell, SD from 2009 to 2013.  During this time 15 athletes from the club went on to play college level volleyball. 
    • Eric also had a successful college basketball playing career while at Defiance College where his teams won two Conference Regular Season and two Conference Tournament Championships with two trips to the NCAA Div. III Tournament.  He is also #6 on the all-time scoring list and #2 in total steals in program history.
    • Currently Eric is an Academic Advisor and Retention Specialist for the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment (Civil & Construction Engineering) at Arizona State University.  Eric lives in Chandler with his wife Sigourney and two boys Nolan and Brandt.
