2025 Boys Spring League Info

What is Spring League? It is a league designed for the 14 and under boys (5th-8th grade) to be able to continue their development in the spring when the high school boys are all playing for their high schools
Why would I particiapte in the Spring? One, because it is fun! And two, it is another opportunity for you to improve your volleyball skills!
When is Spring Leauge? It starts January 25th with an evaluation day at Aspire…see below and ends on April 5th with the last Spring League tournament.
Isn’t this basically the same things as club in the fall? No! There are some important differences. One, in preparation for our 2025 Boys Spring League, we are holding an evaluation day! From 4-6pm at Aspire gym, come and showcase your skills so we can get organized for another exciting spring! Two, everyone makes a team, NO MATTER WHAT! And three, we approach Spring League with a more developmental mindset. We focus more on the fundementals and individual skills rather than the competition. Does that mean we don’t care about winning? No way!! Winning is fun. All it means is that we are dedicated to making you a better volleyball player!
When and where are practices? ***Practices will be held at Chandler Gilbert Community College on Monday and Wednesday starting on January 27th from 7-8:30pm. These practices will be a clinic style practice where we will use two courts to run all the boys through skill work, fundemental drills and some game play. Each boy will receive coaching and feedback from all of the spring league coaches during the practice period. We believe this will all for maximum growth of the players, and a more unified spring program.
What do tournament days look like? On gameday, we will then break out into teams of TEN boys per team for region tournament play. We think TEN is a good number to increase playing time on those tournament days. We understand that teams were formed during the fall, but want to make sure it is understood that these spring league teams will be just for the spring and will allow for more individual growth. Once the spring league is over, the original fall league teams will reunite for the summer tournaments.
How much is it and what do I get for my money? Throughout the spring, we will have four total tournaments with three matches per tournament. The indidivual cost for the spring league is $595 paid in a one time installment on Jan 27th at our first practice. You will also receive a special spring league practice t-shirt and two new spring league uniform shirts.

Tryouts Information

***A PARENT MUST ATTEND TRYOUTS***

  • Read through ALL the details for tryouts and what you will need to know to prepare for that day!
  • There is a $25 tryout fee. Everyone makes a team and gets an Aspire tryout t-shirt!
  • Tryouts are August 10th. Each age groups has a specified time. See below.
    • 15/16 from 8-10am (registration begins at 7:30)
    • 17/18 from 11am-1pm (registration begins at 10:30)
    • 12-14 from 2-4pm (registration begins at 1:30)
  • Make sure to register for the correct age group.
  • You do NOT have to bring any paperwork to tryouts. We will provide you with the proper paperwork upon checkin.
  • ON TRYOUT DAY -- you will be selected to a team, then receive an email via PlayMetrics requesting that you claim your spot on that team. You will then accept the spot, sign waivers and make the first payment for the season.

Open House Schedule

  • Below is the open house schedule for 2024. We are allowed three total open houses per age group. Be sure to attend the correct age group so our coaches can evaluate you appropriately. This process will help with the tryout process so we have a better idea of what team best fits your skill set and volleyball goals.

  • This season, The AZ Region of USA Volleyball has restricted up to three sessions (three hours each) per age group. So, be sure to sign up for the appropriate time for each age group. You cannot participate in multiple age groups this season.
  • For reference, if you sign up for the Alpha/Premier open house, you are signing up because you have interest in the travel component of club volleyball. If you sign up for the Regional open house, you are NOT interested in travel. You may play in the full 3 hours for each age group, but only need to pay for one sessions. Just stick around and play the whole time!
  • $10 each session. MUST sign up online. Below is the schedule

***If you do not make an Alpha or Premier travel team, you will still be considered for our non-travel teams regardless of what open gyms you attended

Alpha Initiative

What is the Alpha Initiative?

Alpha Initiative is a program for individuals who love to play, train, and work with like-minded athletes and coaches to dominate in high school and learn to play at a college level. Alphas know that nothing is given and everything is earned. Alphas don’t back down from anyone, or any situation. These athletes are never satisified and seek out the best competition knowing that iron sharpens iron. Nothing is guaranteed, nothing is given. Everything is earned!

***This program applies to any athlete talented enough to be selected to our top 15U-18U teams.

At Aspire, you are getting a more comprehensive club experience than anywhere else in Arizona. Ultimately, you get what you pay for. We will help your son, no matter the level of play, to chase and achieve his dreams. Unfortunately, as you may have felt in other areas of your life, inflation has hit the club world as well. AZ Region of USA Volleyball

From September to December, we participate in the Arizona Region Volleyball tournaments. There are five regular season tournaments and then culminating with a Region Championship on the first Saturday in December. Region tournaments beginning at 9am and last all day. Each team will play FOUR matches on tournament days. Plan to arrive an hour before the start of the first match, or as directed by your coach. MORE INFO TO COME AS WE GET CLOSER TO TOURNAMENT ONE!
